Self-improvement is a major need that just about everyone on the planet has. Everyone wants to become a greater version of who they currently are. It is either a person wants to become healthier, wealthier, wiser, stronger, or more attractive to the opposite sex. No matter who it is, I can assure you that they are thinking of how to make themselves better in some way, shape, or form. This is simply because no one is totally satisfied with themselves.

Sadly, though many people want to become better, they find it very hard to do just that. Well, there are several reasons for this. First of all, many people do not know where to start. Second, they do not know in what direction to turn. Third, many people find it very difficult to maintain on a set path towards self-improvement. Fourth, many of these people become distracted and discouraged too easily.To sum it up, there may be obstacles on the road to a better you.

This article presents 10 very vital steps anyone can take to becoming a better in terms of how they live their lives. These factors are directly related to the various aspects of life as we know it.

  1. Adopt a better thinking pattern

Before you can experience the great transformation that you so desire, you have to first of all alter the manner in which you think. Thought pattern is the single most important factor in the personal transformation process. The nature of your thoughts can either help or hinder you in a major way. Why is this so? Well, to put it simple, thoughts are essentially the programming that control actions and therefore determine outcome. Proper and wholesome thoughts will lead to better actions and results in your life.

  1. Make better use of your time

Time is a very important resource. Not to mention, the amount of time we are given in life is limited. Therefore, it is very essential that you spend it wisely. In your transformation process, you want to make sure that you are utilizing your time well by investing it in things and endeavors that are beneficial to you. These benefits could be either short or long-term. Spending valuable time on activities that yield no returns is very counterproductive. To have a better life, you have to truly make better use of your time. The rewards will make your life a whole lot sweeter.

  1. Make better use of your energy

Energy is just as important as time. The manner in which you utilize your energy has a lot to do with your level of productivity in life. If your energy is spent chasing shadows, then you can only expect that you will have nothing to show for your daily energy expenditure. In the same breath, if your energy is spent on getting trivial things done, then it is only fair for you to get trivial returns. The same is also true on the opposite end of the spectrum. Those who spend their energy on worthy ideals will have enjoyed a fruitage of worthy returns in their lives. Therefore, it is essential that you utilize a greater portion of your energy on things and endeavors that are worthwhile.

  1. Create a better self-image

Having a better self-image is a very key part of becoming a better you. By far, poor self-image is in epidemic proportion and afflicts three out of five adults. Because of love self-image, many people have short changed themselves and have settled for far less than they are truly worth. The “better you” can only come through you having a better self-image. It is all in the imagination and before a better you becomes a reality, it has to be imagined. However, people’s past failures have a way of sticking with them and therefore hindering their ability of imagining a “better self”. With that in mind, do all you can to always see yourself in a better light.

  1. Practice better daily habits

Your habits are the things you do on a daily basis without even thinking. Essentially, your habits are the involuntary actions that you carry out in a repetitive manner over an extensive period of time. Sadly, many people have habits that offer them no benefits. Instead, these habits waste time, energy, and sabotage those who are caught up in the fruitless cycle. Practicing better habits sets you on course to a highly fulfilled life. So, it is in your best interest to take stock of all your habits, evaluate them all, and then replace the unproductive habits with others that are beneficial. Some of the major habits include diet, and exercise.

  1. Organize and plan better

In order to become a better you, the practice of organizing and planning has to become a habit. Planning is very important because it decreases aimlessness. In the same breath, organization is excellent because it diminishes the occurrence of chaos. With a greater sense of direction that comes from planning and increased clarity that comes from being organized, you can achieve a whole lot more in life and also reduce stress.

  1. Develop better communicate skills

Becoming a better communicator has the ability to transform your life in a major way. This is simply due to the fact that much of what we do as humans involves others. Not being able to communicate effectively simply means that you will be misunderstood, not taken seriously, ignored, and even resented. When you develop your communications skills, many doors will open before you and you will be able to reach people you were never able to reach before. Of course, the ability to reach people is very important because it can lead you to increased opportunities in life because of the positive impression you will make on others.

  1. Handle finances better

Becoming better with your finances can certainly lead to a better you. After all, money is an important part of your life and handling it well will certainly lead to better results in life. Your future depends on how well we handle money. To waste the money that you earn will leave you lacking and in a compromised state. Therefore, it is very important that you handle your money in a wise manner; conserving, investing, and increasing your earning potential.

  1. Sleep better

Your health depends on how well you sleep. If you do not have a good sleeping pattern, you can certainly expect that you will always be irritable, tired, and confused. Much is at stake when these very common symptoms are at play in your life. Your relationships, productivity, and emotions are all affected. Sleeping better will provide you with energy, repair cellular damage throughout the body, and regulate body functions and hormones.

  1. Respond to stress better

Becoming a better is also closely related to how you handle stress. No matter what we do in life, stress will arise in one way or another. Believe me, there is no such thing as a life that is completely free of stress. Based on the undeniable fact that stress in inevitable, it is vital that you know how to handle it in a safe and smart manner. To simply do what a stressful situation calls for is detrimental. It is always better to do the opposite or to at least take time out to think clearly before responding to the stress in the customary implosive or explosive manner.

You can experience a great deal of betterment in your life if you do one, a few, or all of the above. Remember, your great destiny awaits. Don’t allow fear and a lack of discipline sabotage your fulfillment in life.

Seven Steps to Becoming a Better Runner

Many people run for fun, some people run for fitness, and others run to finish first. Regardless of your purpose for running, there is a certainty that you want to make serious strides to become a better runner. Well, the truth is, becoming a better runner is a pretty simple endeavor. All you need to do is follow the seven simple steps that I have listed in this article and you will see massive improvements in your running.

 1. Eat better:

It is certainly not a good idea to go running on an empty stomach. Hunger pangs are a distraction that can sabotage your run. Similarly, avoid running on a full stomach. Making such a mistake will result in a bad case of indigestion and acid reflux. You want to make sure that there is adequate time between eating and running. Importantly, eat the right things. Make sure to consume protein, complex carbohydrates, and fruits and vegetables. The protein will provide your muscles with vital building materials. The complex carbohydrates will give you a steady supply of energy. The fruits and vegetable will supply your body with vital minerals and electrolytes. Also, stay away from simple carbs because they will result in a drastic blood sugar spike followed by a sugar crash that will have you feeling totally wiped out.

 2. Drink better:

The liquids you drink before running can have a significant effect on your performance. They can either help or hinder your progress toward becoming a better runner. Water is on the top of the list of liquids to drink before running, and not drinking enough of it will certainly lead to dehydration. It is also wise to drink liquids that can replenish the valuable nutrients you use up through physical exertion and lose through sweating. You can make your own citrus juices or purchase specialized sports drinks, both of which are rich in electrolytes. Finally, never drink milkshakes, sodas, alcohol, or any thick and highly sugary liquids before, during, or after running.

 3. Stretch better:

Foreplay is to lovemaking, as stretching is to running. Before you begin your run, be certain to spend time warming up your muscles. It is advised that you stretch for at least five minutes before you begin running. Stretching prevents injury by preparing your muscles and joints for exertion. In addition, stretching also prepares your cardiovascular and respiratory system for activity. Take time out to stretch because running cold can be detrimental to any dreams you may have of becoming a better runner.

 4. Run better:

Running is all about technique. That technique has everything to do with posture, stride, swing, and grace. The more graceful you become as a runner, the better you become at running. Graceful running will help you to conserve energy and prevent injuries as you run. To improve your running form, pay very close attention to great runners and adopt their technique? You can also improve your running form by paying close attention to yourself as you run and make adjustments to any part of your body that is not moving and holding up in a graceful manner. In addition, running better also involves running more and on a consistent basis.

 5. Breathe better:

Proper breathing is essential to you becoming a better runner. Your breathing is directly linked to how your body produces energy and fuels your muscles. In addition, the manner in which you breathe as you run indicates your level of fitness and determines how well you run. If your breathing is erratic, your heart will follow the same erratic patter. Not to mention, erratic breathing also leads to severe dryness of the mouth and throat. This dryness increases discomfort and stress level. Therefore, pace your breaths, develop rhythm, and maintain that rhythm. With this, your body will fall into a steady tempo that will propel and maintain you as you run. Also, breathe deep and complete breaths.

 6. Think better:

Running can be a very arduous activity. As a result, running can put a great deal of strain on your mind. To combat the incidence of mental strain, make it a case to get into a positive state of mind before you start running. An upbeat mentality will impact your attitude and therefore make the process of running a whole lot easier. In fact, the great attitude can be a major source of energy which can help you move closer to becoming a better runner. Running to your favorite music, a great audio book, or running in very scenic areas can boost your attitude and make your running more enjoyable. Another important point to consider is visualization. When you are running, visualize yourself reaching and surpassing your goals.

 7. Dress better:

What you wear running is very important. Do not wear clothing that is too large or too tight. Select garments made from breathable materials. It is also very important for you to pay attention to the season. During cold months, wear adequate layers. During hot months, wear outfits that will keep your body cool and prevent overheating. Wearing improper clothing can also make you feel very self-conscious and uncertain of yourself. Most importantly, be certain to wear appropriate running shoes. Failing to wear proper running shoes will increase your risk of sustaining short and long-term injuries that could prevent you from attaining and maintaining your ‘better’ running goals. Basketball, Tennis, and Soccer cross-trainers are not good for running distances. Therefore, do not wear them when you go running. Stick with shoes that are made specifically for running. Also, make sure the shoes fit comfortably.

Understanding The Male Ego

Above all else, the male ego has been a major subject of fascination for women since the very beginning. From far back in time, women of all across planet have desired to fully demystify the innermost workings of the male ego. To this very day, women are striving and wishing to unravel the intricacies of the male ego. In the generations to come, women will still be captivated and perplexed by the complexities of the male ego. Interestingly, this fascination is all due to the fact that women are the natural compliments and contrasts of the male ego.

In the attempt to understand men, women have to first accept the fact that they have a great deal to do with the state of the male ego. You see, women have a greater influence over men’s lives than anything else there is. A man may have been influenced by his father, male friends, and foes, but he was more so influenced by his mother, sometimes grandmothers, teachers (majority being females), and the countless girls he adored while growing up. Why is this so? Well, because men love women, desire their acceptance, hunger for their admiration, and seek their approval. In essence, men base much of their worth on how they are perceived by women.

If a man’s ego is prominent and over-inflated it is because he has had success with the women in his life. The male ego begins to grow from the time boy is adoringly praised by his mother. The boy’s ego increases in size when his earliest teachers commend him on a job well done. As the boy develops, his ego takes on greater magnitude and dimensions when girls begin to take an interest in him. The opposite is also true, if the boy is constantly chastised by his mother, criticized by his female teachers, and criminalized by girls, then he will more likely grow up to become a man in possession of a decimated ego.

Though a man’s ego may be inflated in a major way, it can still be shattered into pieces. You see, the male ego is very fragile. Toss a few sensitive issues at a man’s ego and it will certainly crumble. Luckily, if the man’s ego has some substance to it, he will be able to put the pieces back together again. On the other hand, if his ego was unsubstantial, it will more likely take him a very long time to recover the fragments and patch them back together. This is the reason why men are so guarded when it comes on to the sensitive issues of their lives. They know that if they expose themselves by revealing their sensitive issues to others, they will become vulnerable to attacks on their fragile egos.

The male ego has its many emotionally fulfilling needs. Accordingly, if a man is foolish enough to ignore his vital ego needs, he will surely pay a hefty emotional price. As the body needs food, rest, cleaning, and shelter to survive, the ego needs ambition, appreciation, success, and respect.  When all the needs of the ego are met, a man will thrive emotionally.

When a man’s ego is in shambles, his confidence is expectantly low. Why? A man’s ego and confidence are directly proportional. They are the perfect mirror image of each other in size and stature. The three primary aspects of confidence: self-esteem, self-image, and self-love depend heavily upon the status of the ego. If a man’s ego was not primed and boosted from a young age, his level of confidence will certainly be close to zero.

The male libido is fueled by the ego.  It is the widely accepted fact that a car will never get started let alone progress along a path to a predetermined destination if it has no gas. The same is also true for men who are low on ego. These men can’t ever seem to get self-started. They always need a push, a pull, or a lift. When the ego is at a good and healthy level, a man’s libido is all revved up and ready to go. In essence, the ego provides men with a much needed vigor. This very vital energy is not merely sexual, but it is also a key driving force that compels men to strong, definite actions and new heights.

The male identity is intricately tied to the ego. Who a man is as a person is a projection of his ego. Therefore, all healthy men are ego-driven. This fact bears to prove that the ego is an essential part of life. Without the ego, a man would have no sense of self. Not to mention, a man would have no aspirations to aim for and achieve in life if he had no ego. This is exactly why men take their egos very seriously.
